"Private Eye" Closes Local Office

Photo of Major CoxWith obvious mixed emotion, Major Winston Cox, Director of Confidential Service, announced that his firm has terminated operations here in Cincinnati. After having served this community for more than a decade providing private investigative assistance to many here in the Queen City, the office at 3333 Vine Street was closed last month.

Cox began his career as a Military Police Investigator during his tenure in the armed services in the early sixties. He now sits on the International Board of Directors of the World Association of Detectives. He has also held such posts as Vice President of Investigations for the Ohio Association of Private Detectives Agencies and was a founding member of the National Council of Investigations and Security Services, Inc.

His work has ranged from special surveillance for criminal cases through grueling and sometimes perilous efforts to find a missing person. He introduced the use of the Psychological Stress Evaluator (PSE), a sophisticated electronic lie detection system which measures stress in the human voice, to Cincinnati.

The accomplishments of Major Cox in the field of private investigative work have been recognized and applauded around the world as well as locally. On numerous occasions, one could pick up a copy of the local newspaper or turn on their television or radio and see or hear of the results of his highly skilled professional work.

As well as being a prominent vocal figure within the community, expressing his sometimes controversial views, Cox is also known world wide for his international travels and meetings with various heads of state and political dignitaries.

When queried as to what the future holds for him, Cox replied, "Cincinnati has been good to me. I have been given the opportunity to work a number of interesting cases here and I think its time to take a break and document some of them in an orderly form. "He says he plans to leave the city for a while and begin to work on a book which will describe in detail some of the work he has done over the past eleven years. As to whether Cincinnati’s Super Sleuth will return here someday still remains a mystery, but this question along with others you may have can possibly be answered at a press conference scheduled for July 17th, 10:00 a.m. at Stouffer’s Towers downtown.
