I just read the article you wrote years ago and I found it interesting. I am a bi-racial young adult (24) with a white mother and a black father. You made some very accurate comments in your article, especially the one about bi-racial children having the advantage of seeing the world from duel perspectives. I couldn't agree more.

The only thing I disagree with is how you said that bi-racial children want a racial classification of their own to be put in. I myself truly want to be declassified, i.e. to stop being classified by the government as black and not me reclassified at all. I feel strongly that this is an opportunity for us (all people) to move away from racial classification all together. It should begin right here and now with me and any other bi-racial person who shares my feelings.

Over time the racial classification system will break down no matter what. The government can continue to increase the number of racial classifications until the number is ridiculous and without meaning, or take the high road and become color blind as far as government forms go. Reparations were given a long time ago. As far as I know, none are due to come my way nor my siblings. The injustices and human rights violations that occurred in the past is not a reason to let racial classification continue. The greatest reparation would be to end racial classification on a federal and state level, and let there be no distinguishing trace of color or race to discern from .

I am interested to know if you can inform me on how the girls case against the government turned out. I would also appreciate a response telling your views on what I have said.

Thank you for you time and I hope to hear from you in the future.
